You can use a rubber mallet or a hammer with a block of wood to transfer the force.
Just tap away at the dent from the inside of the door.
Next take a piece of aluminum foil that is sized to fit over the dented area and place it over the dent.
Wash the area with warm water and detergent and allow it to dry fully.
Use warm water and detergent to wash the dented area of your garage door clean and then allow it to dry completely.
The compressed air method is much faster and allows you to fix most garage door dents in under ten minutes.
Taking the lighter move it over the area of the dent making sure you cover the entire area with the flame with a consistent motion for one minute.
Pick up your lighter and move the lit flame back and forth over the dent for 60 seconds.
Set the aluminum foil the lighter and the compressed air canister with the top removed at your feet.
Use the patching material to cover the dented area and make it even using the putty knife.
Lay the foil flush against the dent so it is completely covered.
