How to install window and door trim.
Installing window trim ranges between 100 to 170 per window but they can be as low as 40 or as high as 350.
It s made up of three parts.
When installing window molding start at the top.
Most trim carpenters don t even use a tape to trim windows.
This is done with molding called casing.
Either way to trim a door you need to bridge the gap between the door jamb the frame from on which the door is hinged and where the latch engages and the wall.
Before you cut start installing by marking out the reveal the gap between the trim and the edge of the door jamb or door frame which is typically 1 8 inch.
Prepare to install door trim for a consistent look match the interior trim around your door to the style of the room.
Cut a 45 degree angle on one end of the trim and hold it so the short end of the angle.

Traditionally this cap molding was solid but since a solid molding this large is hard to come by we substituted 2 1 4 in.
